Course Overview

This one-day version of the ALS Level 1 course is aimed at providing the skills and knowledge to manage a patient in the immediate period of a resuscitation crisis. It includes recognition, assessment and the immediate management of a deteriorating patient. The course manual is sent out at least four weeks prior to the course to commence preparation for the face-to-face component.

Requirements

  • There are no formal prerequisites for this course. We will send you the Australian Resuscitation Council Advanced Life Support course manual within four weeks prior to the course commencement for self-guided pre-reading. Course materials also include an optional multiple-choice exam with answers and explanations supplied for self-assessment.

The course is designed for clinicians who don’t regularly manage patients requiring emergency care such as ward-based clinicians, GP’s, registered nurses, medical students or interns.

Neat casual clothing suitable for hands-on CPR practice and enclosed footwear.

Catering is provided throughout the course. We can cater for a range of dietary requirements. Please advise of dietary requirements when enrolling for the course.

Please note there is no refund for cancellation within 31 days if you cancel your course including due to the impact of coronavirus or third-party travel issues. The course requires 100% attendance at all sessions to gain a successful pass.
